We talk a lot about what example you set for others in every walk of life but none more important than your family. Today we discuss the standards in which you set, teach, and lead with because the standard you set now is the legacy you’ll leave when you’re gone.
Bullying is a hot button issue at this point in time, as it should be. There is no excuse for one to bully another and it is something that should be stopped in all forms. In this episode we are talking about just that. Specifically adult bullying. With the dominance of social media and ever growing political and social climates worldwide, bullying seems to be at an all-time high. The way we see it, if you are anti bullying for kids, as you should be, then you had better not be turning around and doing the same thing to other adults who disagree with you.
In part 3 we finish up the discussion on Helicopter Parenting by taking a look into the types of characteristics we each see as essential to being an effective and transformational father. We’ve talked a lot on what not to do in the previous 2 segments so now we want to dive into what we feel that parents should be doing to raise independent children.
In part 2, joined again by Jason Rimini, we are continuing the conversation on helicopter and lawn mower parenting. We hit on why it’s important for our children to fail and learn from those failures as we dive deeper into this topic.
Parenting is tough. Your children dealing with struggles, failures, and disappointments can cause parents to want to intervene in order to make life easier for the child. We see that as setting kids up for tougher times as life goes on. As parents, we have to know where to draw the line of teaching and enabling. Joining us in the multi-part conversation is father of 3, Jason Rimini who brings very helpful insight into the arena or raising children.
The topic of discussion in this episode is that of our choices of entertainment. The music we listen to, the tv and movies we watch, the things we spend our time and money on. They have a lasting effect on you. On your thoughts, your words, attitude, and actions whether you realize it or not. You’ll hear why we think it is important to choose these things wisely.
We are joined today with our great friend and father of 3 girls, Squeak to discuss the joys and the challenges in being a father to females. Within this episode we find some good insight and encouragement to being the daddy that little girls need in their lives.
